When is a retaining wall needed?

A retaining wall can serve multiple purposes, the most common being a solution to give you more useable land in steep terrain. Rock wall’s often enhance landscaping aesthetics while providing structural integrity to support building pads and roadways.

Can you build a retaining wall around already built structures?

Yes. However, in some cases it may be more cost effective to install the wall before the structure is built.

What is Geo-Grid, and when is it needed?

Geo-Grid is a reinforcement material that is laid every 2 vertical feet (in most cases) during the backfill process. It is only required on walls greater than 4 feet tall that are engineered to certain specifications.

What type/ colors of rock do I have to choose from, and where does it come from?

Rock is either mined on-site or imported. There are various types of rock to choose from depending on the aesthetics desired and supply/demand. Generally, Lava Rock is the most readily available and one of the strongest/most durable material’s that we have access to in our area.

What type of block do I have to choose from?

There are different stamped faces to choose from depending on availability.

Do I need an engineer?

An Engineer is needed when a retaining wall exceeds 4 feet in height.

Are there code requirements I have to follow?

Yes, every city has different codes and requirements that we stay up to date on.
